Oral Presentations & e-posters

The submission of a scientific paper is another way to participate in the conference. The paper can be presented as either an Oral Presentation or a Poster Presentation (E-poster).
The topic of the paper is selected by the authoring team, in consultation with the Scientific Supervisor*, and must fall within one of the categories mentioned in the following guide.

*The Scientific Supervisor is chosen by the authoring team and may be a faculty member of a Medical Department or another Department of a School of Health Sciences, a postgraduate student, a PhD candidate, or a specialist/resident physician. The supervisor of each paper is not required to register for the conference, as they will be included in the Scientific Committee and will receive a special invitation.

Abstract Submission

The submission of the paper is carried out via the electronic abstract submission form, which must:

  • Not exceed 350 words
  • Be properly structured (Introduction – Objectives / Methods – Data / Results / Discussion)
  • Include the references used and the Scientific Supervisor

The abstract and author details, including the speaker and supervisor, must be submitted in English if you wish to participate in the 20th Forum.

During submission, participants must select the type of presentation (oral or poster) and three thematic areas relevant to the work.

The submission is done online through the official conference platform. The final decision regarding the type of presentation (Oral or Poster) will be made by the Organizing Committee, according to criteria established by the Scientific Committee.

Shortly after the submission deadline (11/1), you will receive an email confirming whether your paper has been accepted and specifying the presentation format.

Note: After submission, no changes or corrections will be accepted.

Oral Presentations

Oral presentations are delivered to the audience as 10-minute talks, including 8 minutes of presentation and 2 minutes for discussion with the audience.
The authoring team may consist of one or more members, but the presentation itself will be conducted by a single speaker.

Note: ALL authors participating in the paper must have completed their conference registration in order for the submission to be valid — not just the speaker (faculty members are exempt). If any member of the authoring team has not registered, the team’s contact person will be notified.

Poster Presentations (E-posters)

Poster presentations (e-posters) consist of one or two slides at most and will be displayed at a designated area of the conference venue, where participants will have the opportunity to discuss their work with attendees.

Recommended E-poster Specifications:

  • Format: 16:9 (wide-screen)
  • Resolution: 1920x1080 pixels
  • Number of slides: 1 or 2
  • Orientation: Horizontal
  • Ensure that text contrasts well with the background for clarity
  • For images, prefer .jpeg or .png files

Papers Eligible for Awards

Each Oral Presentation and Poster Presentation (E-poster) may be submitted for consideration for an award.
During the online submission process, there will be an option to indicate whether the paper should be considered for an award.
Papers submitted for awards must deal with an original research topic that exceeds the typical level of undergraduate studies.

Additionally, it is required to submit the full text of the paper, written in the language of presentation, which will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee of the conference.

The 7 best papers submitted for awards will be presented in a special session of the SCHMS conference (at a date and time to be announced), during which the oral presentations will also be evaluated by the Scientific Committee.

As in previous years, two awards will be presented:

  • Best Oral Presentation, and
  • Best Poster Presentation (E-poster),
selected based on the Scientific Committee’s evaluation.

A detailed description of the evaluation process for each category can be found in the Guide for Paper Presentations.
